Lydia's Fight & Journey to Seizures & Healing

Hi friends and family, Lydia here. Some of you know and some might not know, about the season I and my family have been in for the last several years.
On November 22, 2022, I had an experience that started a revolutionary change to my entire world. A grand-mal, black out, convulsive, and invasive seizure in the middle of the night during my sleep. It woke up Trey, and we rushed to the ER to make sure I was okay and baby Nayva was okay in my womb. Everything was clear. The EEG, MRI, CT, bloodwork, etc. All clear. No insight to anything at all. We all prayed and hoped it was a one time thing.
Then it was mostly silent until February of 2023 when another grand-mal seizure hit me. This time, while driving our entire family. So scary, life threatening, but God protected us in a miraculous way. A story I’m happy to share another time. And since then, it’s been a start to a new, unexpected, and all around challenging season… I’ve had 20 grand-mal seizures come after me like surging waves of storm water. My most recent in December of 2024 just days before Christmas.
But, what we’ve found out since and now seen happening prior to that first awful experience in November of 2022, are lots of little attacks here and there. Sometimes in multitudes in one day, and sometimes days in a row. Those attacks are called absent seizures, or petit-mal seizures. They are draining, awful, creepy, interrupting, and I fully hate them. But God. He has led us to so many incredible sources and down so many routes over the last 2.5 years. He is so good. All the time.
As a dear friend said perfectly well, I have also been truly humbled by the fragility of life. It can really hit you out of nowhere, when you are least expecting it.
We have come to a truly humbling point now, cutting down all pride, and are asking for help financially for out of pocket costs that we have had, are having and will continue to have. Financial help to beat this season of seizure attacks, as well as to lessen the financial burden on our family. I am not only seeking traditional allopathic medicine but integrative approaches as well, which are not covered by insurance.
We continually have the costs of out-of-pocket doctor fees, consultations, a strict ketogenic diet, various kinds of therapy, counseling, babysitter costs, a lot of supplements and vitamins, potentially more neuro-feedback, and a lot more integrative health and natural treatment. It has gotten pricey and expensive.
We are so appreciative of everyone that has shown up for us in this season, in every way. Financially, through prayer that Jesus’ would ultimately bring light to my physical healing, watching our children so we can make it to all of the appointments, being my chauffeur driver, and so much more. I appreciate you, love you, and am thankful for all you can give or do to support our crew!
Love,
Lydia Mae
