Hello everyone,
On December 11, 2024 Lydia Fillip was diagnosed with STAGE 4 Nodular Melanoma Cancer. Nodular Melanoma is a rare form of cancer that is aggressive and very challenging to treat.
This rare form of cancer produces tumors throughout the body and since Lydia's original diagnosis tumors have spread to Lydia's lungs causing intense coughing spells and difficulty in her ability to breathe that often leads to choking.
Immunotherapy is the treatment used to treat advanced Nodular Melanoma. Lydia has since undergone 3 treatments, however it is too early to determine if the therapy will be successful for Lydia. The tumors she has continue to cause her severe periods of excruciating pain and discomfort. She hasn't had a proper nights sleep in months dealing with the pain and discomfort she now lives with.
Being that Lydia is 59’ and single adds yet another caveat to her situation as she is her sole source of income. Lydia has spent the past 40 years in Aviation as a flight attendant. She started out as commercial flight attendant for American Airlines and transitioned to an Executive Flight Attendant in the Private Jet Industry.
Unfortunately due to the increasing degree of excruciating pain Lydia will not be able to work. Flying and taking care of her passengers has been her passion. Lydia will not have any income while undergoing treatments unless the immunotherapy becomes successful.
Lydia remains positive as she leans strongly in her faith in Jesus. Even though the prognosis can at times look grim, Lydia continues to look upon Jesus as she knows everything is meant for a reason and he has the ultimate plan designed for her life.
Lydia will undergo her treatments every 21 days for the next several months with the hope that the treatments will ultimately be successful and she will become cancer free.
The funds that we hope to raise thru Lydia's Go Fund Me account will make up for the loss of income that she will no longer be able to receive and go towards her medical bills and household expenses including rent, utility bills, and her essential living expenses.
Lydia has a small network of very close and dear friends that help her as much as possible and we all pray that the Lord through generous hearts will help raise the funds that she now needs to cover her monthly expenses.
