On January 8, 2008 Lydia Jane Chaffin entered the world with enthusiasm, and that frame of mind has been a large part of who she has been for her ten years on earth. She is the middle child of five, the bridge between the older sisters and younger brothers and the center of the whirlwind of activity in their active home.
Lydia loved life and took care of her mind and body. She was careful not only to eat good food and discipline her body as she practiced all the physical skills she was interested in learning to do, but she paid attention to the spiritual training she received at church and in the family home evenings and scripture study sessions she enjoyed with her family. She learned quickly and was eager to help anyone around her benefit from what she knew how to do.
Lydia’s favorite part of life, in spite of all the interests and experiences she relished, was her family. She recently told her sister: “I love my family so much. I don’t wish for anything else!” To be with her family forever is one thing she is counting on, now that she has gone home to her Heavenly Father.
Because of the events surrounding the accident that took her life, we are pleased to offer everyone who would like to assist the family with those related expenses, a chance to help in any small way they wish.
