Lycan is preparing to run his first marathon next year. While Lycan had been on the move since he was 10 months old, climbing, jumping off of things, it wasn't until he started track and cross country during High School that he really discovered running. He credits his Cross Country Coach, Ian Dobson, with teaching him how to run. Having never run at this level his body took some time to catch up. He struggled with shin splints, needing time to rest and recover, learning how to stretch and move his body so that he could run faster and longer distances. He quickly fell in love with long distance running and his parents are grateful that he found a great way to care for his body and his mind.
In 2025, he was given the opportunity to run the Eugene 5k at Hayward Field and his passion grew. Vowing at the time that next year he would run the full marathon. Running has given Lycan so much over the past 6 years that he's excited to do something he loves while helping others. The Relief Nursery is a cause close to his family's heart. Knowing how blessed we are to be able to take care of our family and have the resources to train and run a marathon reminds us that there are families in our community struggling to meet their basic needs. Your support will not only ensure Lycan gets his dream of running his first marathon, but that other children's dreams will come true as well. Thank you for your support of Lycan and the Relief Nursery!
