Hello,
My name is Nancy Davis and I am trying to raise money for my best friend of 56 years who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her name is Liz Walsh Quinn and here is her story.
Liz and I grew up together and remained BFFs all these years. The past three years have been very hard on her. It all started with a call from the police. Her son was arrested for drugs and needed to be bailed out. Liz scrapped together the money, got him out and found him the help he needed at his first rehab center. The legal cost (jail is not free) has been astronomical. Before she could recover from the cost of rehab she was faced with the expense of a divorce. Once that was finished she found herself out of work and having to deal with saving her family home and her son's relaps.
I am happy to report Liz's son has been clean for a year now, she landed another job and refinanced the home. She thought things were looking up so she saved her pennies to finally get her teeth fixed. You see, Liz needs a denture for her bottom teeth. She was so excited at the thought of getting her smile back, she went in and had the teeth pulled. It would only be a matter of days before she had her smile back. Whamo.... Liz found out she has breast cancer. At first they thought it was something they could take care of with a lumpectomy but we have since found out it was in her lymphnodes and twice the size they had originally thought. To date she has had two surgeries and will be starting Chemo treatments in 2 weeks for 5 1/2 to 6 months. After that will be radiation treatments. As you all know, all of these procedures along with medication costs a lot and I don't want her to have to worry and stress about being able to pay for it all. Liz has been a rock through all of this. I have never known anyone as strong as her and I am honored to call her my best friend. We have been known to be compared to Lucy and Ethel and/or Thelma and Louise. She has a positive attitude and is determined to get rid of this awful disease once and for all BUT SHE NEEDS OUR HELP. Please help us help her get through this very difficult time in her life. Whatever you can donate will be greatly appreciated and you will be helping my best friend Liz (Lizzy) Walsh Quinn.
