Luz lived an amazing life. A fighter since birth, doctors said she couldn’t walk and would live a difficult life with Down syndrome. They were wrong. With the enormous love of her mother never giving up on her, Luz overcame any obstacle that was in her way. Not only did she walk but she ran and could swim better than a fish and loved competing in sports or games. Always supported by her loving family. Luz traveled, worked, was a social butterfly, dancing queen, olympic athlete, the bravest person full of life and love. She is a beloved member of her church that everyone looked forward to seeing at service. Luz leaves behind the best memories filled with laughter, she has the best contagious laugh, funny sayings, great moments that we all will cherish forever. Luz showed us that Down syndrome is not a disability and it doesn’t define a person. Her love laughter and joy of life is what we will remember her for. After a long battle of Alzheimer’s, she finally rested in peace at home surrounded by her close family. We ask for your donations to help cover funeral and service costs. Luz vivió una vida maravillosa. Una luchadora desde que nació, los doctores dijeron que nunca caminaría y tendría una vida muy difícil por el síndrome de down. Pero estaban muy equivocados. Por el gran amor de su mamá y que nunca se dio por vencida, Luz superó muchos obstáculos. No solo camino sino que corrió, también nadaba mejor que un pescado y le encantaba competir en deportes y actividades; siempre con el apoyo de su familia . Luz viajó, trabajó, era muy sociable y amiguera, siempre fue el alma de la fiesta, también fue una atleta olimpica, la persona mas valiente llena de vida y amor. Era una persona querida y especial en su iglesia. Luz nos deja las mejores memorias llenas de su risa contagiosa que le caracterizaba, nos deja cada una de sus dichos chistosos, momentos que atesoraremos por siempre. Luz nos enseño que el síndrome de down no es una discapacidad ni define a una persona. La recordaremos por su amor, su risa, y alegría de vivir. Después de una larga batalla con Alzheimer’s, finalmente descanso en paz en su hogar rodeada por su amada familia. Pedimos su colaboración para ayudar a cubrir los gastos funebres.
