On April 30th 2023 our precious baby girl Lux finally entered the world. Our time in the hospital following her delivery was easy and we were told we’d be discharged the next day, that was until they noticed she wasn’t able to fully pass the Pulse Oximetry Screening. However even then the nurses and doctors didn’t seem too concerned because her numbers were literally just below passing. We would have to stay at the hospital one extra night just to see if her numbers would improve on their own. Her numbers ended up passing a few hours later, they wanted to discharge us the next morning. Something was bugging me though and thankfully we had a wonderful nurse that listened to my concerns and ended up pushing our request to do an echo on her heart before they let us leave with her. Two hours before we were set to leave they performed an echo on her heart and the look on the technician’s face told us all we needed to know. It was bad news. We weren’t prepared at all though for what the results would be but the important thing was that they caught it before we took our baby home that morning. Lux was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. Because of this diagnosis I was discharged but our sweet baby had to stay in the NICU for further monitoring. Lux will have to have a major heart surgery in the following months to correct her heart so she can have a normal and full life. Thank you for all your prayers and please just keep our family in your thoughts as we navigate through this time. ❤️❤️❤️ If you’d like more information on her condition here’s a little video, we are still getting as educated on it little by little. https://youtu.be/sJPWRZ4qb_I - Lindsey & Dom Update 06/30/23 Our little girl is officially two months old! It’s been a journey but things are now moving in the right direction. Her team of doctors think she is almost ready for her heart surgery! We are waiting to hear back about a date but it will be taking place in either August or September in San Francisco. They suspect that she will be in San Francisco anywhere from 10 - 14 days if everything goes well. This diagnosis was a major curveball for us, as well as my own health complications following her birth. We just want to do everything in our power to get our daughter on the right track to have a relaxing recovery. Lux’s appointments, surgery, as well as lodging for us during her recovery time and all the little things in between are going to add up. Anyone who knows us knows we hate asking for help but this is going to be a really important part in our little girls journey towards a happy and healthy life. While we don’t expect to get anywhere near the goal on this fundraiser, every little bit helps. Thank you all for your prayers and sweet words. They have meant more to us than you’ll ever know. ~ Lindsey, Dom, DJ & Lux
