MY name is Rebecca Klipp and 31 years ago I was dignosed with relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis (MS). That means I would have a flair up and it would last a few days, weeks, or months. I was great the first 25 years but six years ago I progressed to the secondary progressive stage. This means I no longer have periods where I have flair ups. Instead my disease will just keep progressing down hill the rest of my life.
I am currently in a wheel chair and I sit every day in a lift recliner from the time my husband goes to work at 6 am, until bedtime each evening. I haven't been upstairs in my home now for over two years. I have a powder room but can no longer stand to brush my teeth. Transfering to use the bathroom has become almost impossible.
Currently my husband wheels me outside into the garage to give me a shower. He hooks a hose up to the kitchen sink and has placed a few fiberglss panels for privicy. There is no heat and it's very cold out there.
My hope is to be able to build a handicap bathroom with a sink I can roll under to brush my teeth and wash my face and a bedroom that is accessible to me. I currently use the dining room as my bedroom and It's an open area with no door.
It's very difficult for me to ask for any financial help, but I simply don't have the funds needed for such a project. This would make such a huge difference in the quality of life for me.
I truely appreciate any help that you would be kind enough to give. It would make such a huge difference in my life!
Blessings, Rebecca
