Luther's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
I'm Jamiel & our Luther has been having health issues lately. Our usual high energy, charismatic boy has been sick & vomiting non stop.
TDLR; Our poor cat is sick for my birthday & Christmas. He's having liver issues, the medical bills are putting us in the red. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

On December the 20th, Luther had a vomit, which isn't unusual for him. The issue came about when it wouldn't stop. On that day he had 10+ pukes, starting at 11am and ending at 5:30pm. The retching was so abrasive on his 15 year old body that he would fall over from the force. He was throwing up all over himself, not eating, drinking or speaking, which is highly unusual as he turned down his favorite tuna soft food that he usually sprints for. I gave him a Cerinia but it didn't help much as he was still puking after that. He was yowling and trying to isolate himself, he stayed in one of his tents all day & had his back turned, staring at the wall. He was vey dehydrated also, with sunken in hips, I had to gently use a spray bottle to give him water. He threw up till he had nothing left in his stomach, till there was only spit and yellow bile left. I thought he may be having a bad reaction to a Solensia shot he got on the 18th or that he was choking on something, or he is really, really sick
We took him into the emergency hospital once our car was available & his vitals were fine. We had a choice to do an ultrasound, bloodwork or a overnight stay. We decided to go home and monitor him & contact our vet the next day for some cheaper bloodwork. On the 21st we contacted Luther's vet to find it closed. Went back to the emergency vet to get bloodwork, antibiotics, & subcutaneous fluids.
His bloodwork showed that he has 3x elevated vitals in his liver & is needed to be kept medicated, eating, & drinking over the next few days. The expenses for the past two days have put us in the red & we are worried there will be more expenses. We wouldn't have been able to afford the bills at all if I didn't join a contract job I had from August to November that I was able to have some savings from. We are going to be going to our family vet from now on, to save on prices but Luther may need a overnight stay with fluids on Sunday the 22nd (my birthday) or Monday the 23rd. if we doesn't eat or drink & that will be $1,000-$1,500.
Our family has trouble making ends meet as it is & live paycheck to paycheck. We have dived into our bills budget & my savings money (is close to running out) to make these costs & it isn't looking good.
So if you feel called to help or are in the Christmas spirit, any help would be appreciated to get our boy back on track. Even if it's $1 or sharing the link around.
Thank you so much for reading this...
