Born on March 26, 2010, in Wiesbaden, Germany, Lushawn was the beloved son of Keyon and Jennifer (Rinner) Copeland. He was a student at Carthage Central School District, where he was known for his bright mind, kind spirit, and strong sense of curiosity.

Lushawn had a deep passion for archery and robotics, where his exceptional intelligence and natural problem-solving abilities shone through. A dedicated member of the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC), he took pride in discipline, teamwork, and service to others. Outside of these pursuits, Lushawn loved gaming and found joy in connecting with others over shared adventures. Yet, nothing brought him more happiness than spending quality time with his family—his greatest love and support.

Lushawn is survived by his father, Keyon Copeland; his mother, Jennifer Copeland and her partner, Andre; his step-mother, Jasmine Liamkeo; his paternal grandmother, Sophia; his maternal grandparents, Dagmar and Wilhelm; and his loving siblings, Luca, Luana, Luisa, and Luis; his godmother and godfather, Aunt Tanja and Uncle Stefan Hachert; all whose lives he touched with his warmth and infectious energy.
