Help Lu Incendio-Van Tongeren Attend His First Music Festival!

Lu's Bio:

Lu Incendio-Van Tongeren, 14 years old, is a cellist who resides in southern New Mexico. He joined his first music class at their public charter elementary school and began learning the cello at age 10. Lu was drawn to the cello because of its deep and rich sound. Since playing the cello, Lu has participated in several ensembles such as their school's orchestra and the Las Cruces Junior Youth Orchestra. He also performs in a variety of solo settings like studio recitals and Solo and Ensemble festivals. For these performances, Lu has received high scores of honors and earned medals. Lu hopes to one day have a prolific career as a cellist, performing as a soloist and in orchestra. When Lu is not with his cello, they also spend their free time creating art, recently submitting a portfolio to the high school art teacher.

A note from Lu:

Hi, my name is Lu, and I’m a 14-year-old freshman in high school from southern New Mexico. I’m a passionate cellist, and this summer I’ve been given an incredible opportunity: I’ve been accepted to my very first music festival. This camp is the The New England Music Camp in Sydney, Maine.

This camp is a huge step for me as a young musician. It’s a place where I’ll get to learn from professional cellists, grow my technique, play in ensembles, and meet other students who are just as dedicated to music as I am. I’ve worked so hard to prepare for this, from long practice hours to auditioning and staying committed to my goals.

Now, I’m asking for your help to get there.

The camp is nearly 2,400 miles from home, and I need support covering travel expenses, tuition, and lodging. I’ve been doing all I can locally to raise funds but I still have a ways to go.

Any contribution, big or small, will help bring me one step closer to this life-changing experience. I’m so excited to grow as a musician, and so grateful for your support in making this dream a reality.
