For those of you who know Luronda may already know what she has been going through these past several months and for those of you who don't, well...
On November 7th, 2017, Lu was first diagnosed with Deep Vein Thrombosis in her left leg and an enlarged uterus resulting in a total hysterectomy on January 17th, 2018. While undergoing surgery, a tumor was found and was thought to be removed in its entirety. Prognosis looked great. From that point, she returned to work after healing from her hysterectomy on March 12th, 2018.
A few weeks later she was experiencing some pain in that same leg, she thought she had pulled a muscle. She then had an ultrasound on her leg on April 6th, 2018 and worked her last day on April 9th, 2018 with findings of two abnormal and enlarged lymph nodes that was later biopsied on April 18th, 2018. She was newly diagnosed with Metastatic Leiomyosarcoma of the uterus on April 23rd, 2018. She went ahead and had 5 rounds of radiation with hopes on beginning chemo the following week, however, bloodwork came back and her body would not have handled it due to her kidneys at that time. On May 2nd, 2018 she was in renal failure due to renal obstruction from tumor and received kidney stents on May 3rd, 2018. A week later they went ahead and reordered the blood tests and all came back okay and her kidneys looked good.
Luronda is currently receiving chemotherapeutic treatments! Her last chemo was last Thursday, double dosage with steroids... she is FIGHTING this and with her faith in God, will to stay strong for her children, and her positive attitude - she is doing considerably well with what she is undergoing!
Due to her health conditions, she has exhausted all accrued annual and sick leave at work and has been without a paycheck for several weeks now. I am kindly asking for any help at this time to keep her stress-free, as living expenses and medical bills continue coming her way. Luronda is such a hardworker and never EVER asks for help, however, I think in these circumstances it takes an army to overcome this! Your generousity will be greatly appreciated - not only from myself, her co-workers and her friends, but mostly by Lu and her family!
Thank you and God bless!
