On May 31st Lupo was rushed into emergency surgery to address a life threatening condition known as bloat (GDV or Gastric Dilation Volvulus), curable only through invasive surgery. Lupo’s abdomen was cut open to physically twist his stomach back into the right position & later secured to his side to prevent further twisting. He’s a strong boy, has survived the surgery & is now recovering in ICU before being released. He has a long road of recovery ahead but is definitely motivated to chase his tennis balls once again. Prior to surgery, Lupo wanted to share this message with everyone to ask for their support & thank them for their love:
“Hello, my name is Lupo & I recently had to undergo Gastric Dilation Surgery - essentially my belly got really large & was hurtin’ so we had to deflate it, untwist it all and, sew me back up. Similar to what I do with all my toys, but much less cost effective!! I’m a really strong boy but if you & your doggy friends could help with the silly bill, I would be sure to give you an extra long snuggle when I see ya next! You’re the best!! xoxo”
