December of 2018 Doctors discovered a tumor on my Aunt Lupie’s liver & unfortunately she was diagnosed with cancer. After months of unsuccessful chemotherapy she was sent to MD Anderson for further testing & treatment.
In June of 2019 they discovered the very rare form of cancer called cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). She went thru a 10hr surgery where they removed a grapefruit size tumor on her liver as well as half of her liver & gallbladder. Surgery was successful & she became cancer free... or so we thought.
Unfortunately June 2020, almost a year of being cancer free, Drs discovered the cancer had returned once again on her liver & as well as in her lungs. A procedure was done a couple of weeks ago to remove the tumor from her liver. In addition, she will be given a daily chemo pill to help stop the spreading of the cancer in her lungs, as well as prevent the cancer from regrowing.
She’s fought and fought but NEVER lost her FAITH nor her courageous Smile!
