Lupie Dayze - Love a Lupie

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that breaks down your immune system and mistakenly fights it's OWN cells because it doesn't recognize them as it's own. It usually affects women of african american or latin heritage. This can cause hair loss, extreme fatigue, joint pain, joint swelling, weight loss, skin rashes, kidney, liver, heart, and lung failure, and sometimes death. I have been struggling immensely to cope with this and though it has been such a heavy burden to carry, I'm able to continue fighting. With this disease, I will be in constant need of medication, doctors visits, labs, and hospital care and we all know patient care can be very expensive. Please give what you can, if you can....wholeheartedly and generously! If you can't, simply say a prayer ....I accept those in abundance :) I appreciate any and ALL and dont forget to educate someone about the "mystery disease"--knowledge is key!!

*UPDATE: my lupus is now active in my kidneys as of 2019, which caused ESRD (end stage renal disease) which means I will need to have a kidney transplant and have to do dialysis 3 days/week in the interim. Thank god I have been added to St Barnabas transplant list, but I am still looking for an active donor. As of 2022, lupus has also decided to take over my lungs causing pleural effusion (which means my lung cavity fills up with fluid) making it hard for me to breathe. I am and will continue to be the face of Lupus. I am here to educate, inspire, and empower others in their journey.
