Our mother and soon to be grandmother Lupe Curiel is one of the strongest people we all know and she is the foundation of our family. Her lovely smile and laugh lights up any room she walks into and her unselfishness is always on display with her willingness to help. On the weekends she devotes her time caring for her mother and assisting other family members. The amount of love she shows is unmatched. She really is the MVP of our family counted on by all of us that call her mom, sister, aunt, daughter, wife and soon to be grandmother.
On a professional level, she has been a faithful employee at Ferguson Kitchen and Bath for over 35 years, along the way creating lifetime business partnerships and friendships.
A sudden unexpected emergency has put a halt to Lupe's ability to help others out. She is currently in SICU at Cottage Hospital after having suffered a stroke which has left her with a diagnosis of possibly having no motion on her dominant right side of her body. Lupe just went through a successful surgery and now we wait and see what her recovery process will look like. We have been told she will remain at Cottage Hospital for at least a month followed by 3-6 months in a long term care facility to try and get back as much of her motor skills as possible. Lupe has a long road to recovery ahead of her but we as a family are ready for the challenge as I'm sure my mom will be as well. Please keep Lupe in your prayers as she continues to recover from this.
