Hi my name is Melissa Gonzales! My mom was a sweet and kind soul. She didn't have much growing up and she was a simple person. She never complained about much and she worked hard all of her life as a nurses aide at Citizen's Medical Center. She only made minimum wage for most of her life but she found a way to make ends meet. She was always my biggest cheerleader and she encouraged me to always do my best .! She always used to tell me that I was more outgoing than she was because I used to play softball and play in the band in high school. She used to come to my softball games in her nursing uniform..sometimes before she headed off to work. She absolutely used to love to hear us practicing at school when I was in the marching band at Victoria High School. I used to love to run in my younger years.
Mom would sit out in the parking lot at the school while I ran laps. She was my bodyguard lol. I loved my mom because I knew that she always wanted me to have more than she had growing up. I hope that I made my mom proud in life because although she couldn't afford it she found a way for me to go to xray school . My mom tried to get a pale grant for me back then so that I could go to xray school but she was denied. They said she made too much. Imagine she only made minimum wage back then and she still couldn't qualify for a grant. But somehow mom found a way to get me into school and she never went to jail so I know it was all legal.Sadly you never know what life has in store for you. Although I had a wonderful career as an xray technologist ,I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2011 . I had to quit working due to the fact that it affects my legs. It's very difficult for me to do certain things but I do my best. I'm now on a fixed income and therefore do not have the income that I once had. My mom sacrificed for me and now it's my turn to honor her. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
