Another trip to National Jewish Health Center

My mom is one of the hardest-working, most selfless people I know. She’s spent her life taking care of her family, always and putting everyone first before herself. She experienced a pesticide exposure at work that caused Eosinophilic asthma. She has a workmans comp case going against Gallagher and Bassett and they ignored her the first year and finally she was able to get an attorney who is fighting hard for her. But this legal process has been slow and time consuming. My mom meanwhile is barely making it and recently was hospitalized again this is her third hospitalization this year. She was able to get to Denver to National Jewish Health Center where she had to undergo extensive testing. Where It was discovered that a medication that was given to her by Dr's here in New Mexico. Caused additional damage to her lungs and caused a syndrome called Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis. So now due to that syndrome she's experiencing additional health issues on top of her eosenophilic asthma such as nerve damage and severe pain in her joints and muscles and extremities.She can barely walk on her right heel is very painful. So now she must again travel back to Denver to National Jewish Health Center to be evaluated by a Rheumatologist. On top of all that her mental health has severly been affected causing severe anxiety, panic attacks and now depression. We just want her to be stress free as possible and not worry about expenses. Her entire family and children are trying hard to help her as much as possible. But rising cost's are no help. Now she needs to be on nucala biologics injections which are extremely expensive. Were hoping this medication gets pushed through by insurance so she can have some type of normalcy. This Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis has already further damaged her lungs and caused nerve damage and debilitating pain in her entire body and extremities. It's possible that syndrome could affect her heart and kidneys next. We are vigilant and trying hard to get her to Dr's that can treat this correctly. Testing and finding correct treatment is necessary and she will be having to travel to Denver to get the necessary tests so we know the exact treatment that is needed.

My mom has a pending Workmen’s Comp claim tied to a workplace injury, but while that process continues, her health cannot wait. We’re humbly asking for your help to make these life saving trips. To get her the CORRECT treatment.

Watching her fight to stay strong through all of this has been devastating. My mom has always been the first to lend a hand, the one you could always count on when times were tough. Now, she needs us to lift her up in her time of need.
