Let me begin with giving you a background about my uncle (Daniel) my cousin Angela Castro’s Dad, In 1985 he was experiencing shortness of breath and seizures, which lead to the diagnosis of asthma with no known cause. Then in 2009 he was hit by a forklift at work , which caused him to have debilitating back pain causing him to become bed bound, unable to walk, without severe pain , tried physical therapy it was unsuccessful which then lead him to have to go through very extensive  back surgery. During the time he was bed bound his lung function began to decline rapidly on top of him already being asthmatic,  he went in for testing in 2011 was diagnosed with COPD = Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease .. this disease has caused him to rapidly decline, again being bed bound, has to be with oxygen machine and take prednisone for the rest of his life, unable to walk from point A to point B just a few feet without shaking and completely out of breath!! In 2018 my cousin Angela took her dad (Daniel) to Stanford for extensive testing over a span of a year, to see if he can qualify to become a possible candidate for a Lung Transplant. 

GREAT NEWS he’s a candidate to get on the transplant list, he will have to live near Stanford for four months once the surgery is complete, He will have to rent an apartment, pay a full time caregiver, living and medical expenses.
 We are so excited that Uncle Daniel will get an opportunity to be his old self cracking jokes, teasing all of us, socializing making friends everywhere he goes, also

Getting  the opportunity to watch his twin grandchildren Bella and Reggie both 5 years old grow up, they have not had the opportunity to know the father, uncle , son, brother we all grew up with, running around , teasing us putting a smile on all our faces, they have had to go to his room like the rest of us do now to visit him as he lays in bed so he can breath. Not  to mention his daughter Angela newly engaged to be married to the love of her life .. uncle Daniel jokingly says he wants nothing more than to be able to “jog her down the aisle lol,” He has so much life left in him to live!! I want nothing more than to see him get the opportunity to do so, to breath again, to walk , to laugh, to be without pain !! 

This man has the most loving giving heart would give the shirt off his back to a person in need , as cliche as this sounds it’s so true ! We really want to give back to the man that would do anything for us!!  This is a very humbling experience to have to reach out to ask for help, but I, We need your help  to raise the money to give uncle Daniel a second chance to live!! To Breath again..
