Lung Transplant, Danville Mom - Nicole Ludwig
Donation protected

Nicole Ludwig, a beloved member of our Danville community, is in need of our help! Nicole and her family belong to our SRV High School, Montair, Danville Little League and Del Amigo family.
Nine years ago, Nicole underwent a successful heart transplant which has allowed her to live a healthy full life with her family. Unfortunately, four years ago, one of the immune suppressant drugs she was prescribed caused irreparable damage to her lungs and forced her to be on oxygen at all times. Nicole has officially been diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease, and her doctors have recommended she receive a lung transplant. She met with the Stanford Pre-Lung Transplant team and has been put on the transplant list and is waiting for a donor.
Due to her ailing health, Nicole is unable to work and has been forced to go on disability leave. Her husband Jim has been on furlough from his job since March due to the COVID pandemic.
As if all of this weren’t enough for this family, their landlord recently told them they have to move because she wants to sell their house. All this is more than most of us could handle, yet the Ludwig family powers on with optimism and determination.
Any and all donations to help this great family will go towards costs associated with organ transplants that are not covered by insurance such as transportation to and from the hospital, lost wages, childcare and insurance copays/deductibles. Donations will also go towards moving expenses.
The Ludwigs have not yet found a new home and are currently looking for a place to live. They are hoping to stay in the area and would like to find a 3-bedroom house that allows a small dog for under $3,500/mo. Please contact Jim Ludwig or the organizer, Lynn S, if you know of a place that may work for them.
Please help in whatever way you can. No amount is too small. Thank you.
