Puppy Luna-toons Emergency Lung Repair
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kat and this is Lunas story!
Luna is a lovely 2 month old husky and she was born May 2025. She is charismatic, full of energy and is an adorable puppy like any other. One of a litter of 11 brothers and sisters.
On the 4th July 2025 at approx 6:15am, Luna ate her breakfast with her siblings but very quickly inhaled her food and choked suddenly. She was scooped up and worked on in our kitchen through stark panic and tears in our eyes. She was losing blood from her mouth due to
her throat and lung injuries, collapsed in her vitals, lost her pulse and the food wasn’t successfully removed at home despite our best efforts. I screamed the house down in panic and thought we had lost her so I started covering her with a towel but my partner scooped her up and ran out of the house in determination that we weren’t going to loose her. Whilst my daughter and I cried in utter shock and panic at the scene, Luna was rushed to a veterinary hospital nearby and by the grace of god, she eventually brought her puppy kibble up on the way to the vets. It was a miracle she came back to us! A rare event that usually ends in fatalities was thankfully not the case for Luna but she still wasn’t out of the woods.
Skipping a few hours, Luna was rushed onto oxygen by the vet staff, given a cannula for antibiotics and transferred to our registered veterinary practice where they gave her an XRay and vital treatment to keep her alive and stable. However, she is unable to stay at home as she is in need of constant medical care. Her tail is still wagging but the cost of all of this is going to be detrimental and without access to those funds to relieve the process, Luna is going to suffer. We really need to give her a fighting chance as she is only a few months old, a whole life ahead of her and she didn’t deserve to go through so much trauma. There is light at the end of the tunnel with help and support as this condition can be managed and resolved positively.
Luna has come from a large litter and whilst I was looking after them at home and my partner in the vets with her, her new owners and I quickly realised that she was still in her ‘breathing period’ on the insurance which meant she wasn’t covered for another few weeks.

We decided to keep her as our own and gave her owners a new choice of puppy whilst we worked on her medically under our care but with her XRay showing a healthy lung, there was the other lung showing complete darkness and she could no longer use it to breathe.

Currently, Luna is only using one lung to breathe and it is looking likely she will need specialist care and treatment to overcome her ordeal.
We are asking kindly for any support, no matter how big or little in the amount to put towards her lung repair and recovery so we can bring her home to her family where she belongs. Curled up on the sofa, surrounded by her mother, her littermates and our children who adore her. We cannot bare the thought of seeing her breathing in pain and would like to get her treated effectively as soon as possible.

Please help us anyway you can to help bring Luna-Toons home! Thankyou x
donations will be used to go to Lunas care and recovery!
