Luna's Vet Services and Surgery

Miss Luna has been in my life since I adopted her from AHS when she was 9 months old. For those that know Luna knows her as a sniffly snotty snuggly gal who holds a very special place in my heart and loves ALL the love. She is now 10.5 years old and a whopping six pounds. Overall, she is a very happy gal but with some chronic medical issues.
She was a stray in St. Paul and likely suffered from an upper respiratory infection (URI) during this time, and had a polyp in her nasal passage that was removed when she was found and surrendered to AHS. What was thought to be an URI that was going to be short-term, ended up being chronic rhinitis/sinusitis. It has impacted and created long-lasting effects to her nasal pathways, ears, and lungs. This is a lifelong illness, and will never be cured but can be managed and doing so can help her live a long, full, quality of life.
Since adopting her, we have done countless runs of antibiotics, steroid treatments, inhalers, rhinoscopy, nasal flushes, and many vet visits in attempts to help treat Luna's symptoms. This last summer, Luna suffered from vestibular disease where she was unable to hold her balance enough to eat, drink, or use the bathroom on her own. After going to a specialist this fall to help temporarily manage her symptoms, we have been referred to internal medicine at the University of Minnesota as her infection and inflammation has now ascended into her inner and middle ear canal and her lungs.
They determined Luna needs a surgery that is going to be necessary for the next steps as she likely has another polyp and an inner-ear infection. This surgery will include diagnosis, pathology report, testing of her inner and middle ear, removal of the polyp, lab testing, head CT, bloodwork, anesthesia, medication, and boarding. It is going to be a very large bill but is required so that Luna can have alleviation of symptoms and ensure that we do appropriate further treatment for the infections and management of the inflammation. We have some time prior to her needing it urgently, however it is a procedure that is going to need to happen. Luna is at high risk of getting worse and having another vestibular episode if she does not have this procedure.
As some of you also may know, I have had my own personal medical issues crop up over the last year that has landed me with additional medical costs that insurance "covers" but I still am left with large bills to cover on my own. Between my own personal medical bills and the bills that come with Luna's needs, financial stress has been at an all-time high. It is very difficult for me to ask for help, but I am trying whatever I can to make sure that Luna gets the medical care that she deserves so that she can live a long, happy life. Thank you in advance, any donation is extremely appreciated and my hope is to give this little girl what she needs to have a good remainder quality of life.
