Luna's Road to Recovery: Your Kindness Counts
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Alexandra, and I’m reaching out for help for my beloved dog, Luna. For eight years, Luna has been my sassy, sensitive, and deeply loving companion. She’s more than just a pet—she’s family. She’s adored by both mine and my boyfriend’s families and friends, bringing joy to everyone who meets her.
One morning, Luna woke us up yelping in pain. She was limping, and by midday, she had lost all function in her hind legs. After an emergency visit to a neurologist, she was diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD)—a condition that can cause sudden paralysis in dogs.
The good news? Luna was deemed a perfect candidate for a full recovery, but we had to act fast. She immediately underwent emergency spinal surgery, and now she’s home, beginning the long and challenging process of rehabilitation.
This unexpected medical crisis has left us facing a hefty vet bill, and while we are doing everything we can, we are reaching out for support to help fund Luna’s recovery and physical therapy.
As a soon-to-be Registered Dietitian, I was trying to launch my private nutrition consultation business when Luna’s emergency struck. To help cover expenses, I’m offering discounted consultations to anyone looking to improve their nutrition and wellness.
I don’t usually ask for help like this, but Luna deserves every chance at recovery. Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for your generosity—it means the world to us.
