Luna's reconstructive surgery

On Friday 4/9, while my children and I were outside with our 3 year beloved pitbull Luna, a black SUV ran the stop sign by our house and came speeding down our neighborhood road. Our dog was by the side of the road using the sniffing the grass getting ready to use the bathroom. As we saw the car coming m, my 13 year old went to run towards her but I stopped her. The vehicle swerved onto the opposite side of the road hitting Luna with their front tire, which rolled her under the vehicle, and then proceeded to hit her again with their back tire. The vehicle hit their brakes when they hit her and then sped up again leaving the neighborhood as I called out for them to stop. Authorities were contacted and we had a very supportive deputy come out to assess the situation. Unfortunately, because Luna was technically on the road we cannot press charges. She was taken to an emergency vet where it was confirmed that her femoral cap was dislocated and her pelvic bone was crushed around it. We were told that she would need emergency surgery. After contacting the surgeon this morning, we found out that the surgery is going to be around $3,000. Plus she will need follow up care as well including 6 rounds of laser therapy followed by 10 sessions iver the next 6 weeks of physical therapy. We are a single income family with 3 children and do not have the funds to provide her with the care that she needs. Luna is one of the greatest dogs and is my 4 year old daughter's best friend whom she was raised with.  The pain of having to watch her suffer is unbearable, and the pain of having to imagine her being out down is incomprehensible. We have never considered under any circumstance in asking others for help financially, but given the circumstance, we feel like we must in order to do what is right by her.
