Help with Luna's Vet Costs

Donation protected

Hello everyone. I hate that we are here again, but unfortunately it is with a heavy heart that I let everyone know some unfortunate news about my girl, Luna.

Given her brush with cancer last year, I have been ridiculously diligent with feeling around for any new lumps or bumps - especially given that the older dogs get, the more susceptible they are. We have also been very diligent with her senior bloodwork, and this journey began in late December/early January when we discovered that she had some elevated levels in her liver, but we were unable to determine the cause.

Unfortunately, a lump was growing in a spot that was both not visible or able to be felt at the time, due to the location and all of her fur - but I did locate a new lump under her front right arm in mid April, and immediately scheduled an appointment with her vet.

We did an FNA of the area, but the results came back inconclusive due to there being too much inflammation in the actual area, and the lab being unable to differentiate between the cells in the sample.

Given the area the lump was located, I was referred to a specialist, who opted to do an X-rays and ultrasound of the lump in early May. They were able to determine that the lump is operable, and would have a relatively easy recovery.

Unfortunately, when they did the ultrasound they did locate another tumor - but this one is inside her chest cavity. It is not operable, and given that this one is not operable, the doctor also suggested not moving forward with removing the one under her arm.

She was quoted 6-9 months on May 2nd, and unfortunately just in these last two months, I have already started to see her slowing down immensely, getting a little uncomfortable due to the lump (and the fact that our elevator was out for an entire month in our apartment, forcing her to take the stairs).

I keep my troubles close to the chest, and do not like to share my struggles with others. But, I cannot keep up with her vet bills and the palliative care. I have consistently worked overtime since October (to which I am so grateful for my job and getting the opportunity to do so) but the cost of life on top of her care has truly been a struggle.

I am so beyond appreciative for the help I received last year for her surgery, and with the utmost humility I am once asking asking for help.

Attached will be all of the CareCredit charges (this card is ONLY used for Luna and her medical expenses) along with all of the labs and receipts I have available. I am missing the paper copy of the charges from Vermont Animal Hospital and Sevilla, but will work on getting emailed copies to attach to this as well.

The current outstanding balance of her expenses is $3756.76, with an ongoing monthly charge of $337.95 for her mobility shot (Librela) which is one of the biggest factors in helping her be comfortable walking with this tumor under her arm along with her advanced osteoarthritis.

Her other monthly meds average out another $100 or so, but I pay that out of pocket monthly and only charge what I cannot cover out of pocket right away to her CareCredit.

I am hoping to raise $5000 to help with the current bills and some of her remaining palliative care. I will be covering all of the final costs when it is her time to pass, but if I could slow down on the long work weeks so I that I could actually enjoy spending the time I have left with her, as opposed to drowning in her bills, I cannot tell you the relief this will bring to me.

Thank you, for your time reading this. I know it was a lot, and it feels like a lot to ask. Thank you to anyone willing to help, or even if you helped last time and you can't this time.
