Hi everyone! I’m Sheila McNabb and the little fluffy you see is Ms. Luna Sky. She’s a 2 1/2 year old Alaskan Klee Kai. She broke her left front leg in May while playing with her sister. We took her immediately to our local vet. Unfortunately she did not receive proper treatment for the first month for the kind of break she had. I took her to get a second opinion an hour away from our home and she had received the best care ever from Dr. Reese and the team at Harahan Vet Hospital. Luna loves her vet family and we’re been trying to heal her break since late May. Unfortunately her last X-rays did not show continued healing and surgery or amputation is now our only option. We’ve exhausted our emergency funds trying to care for a broken leg and weekly recasting for 3 months. Her surgery is estimated to be around 5,500 plus aftercare. Any help would be greatly appreciated. She’s so young and so active, we’d really like to keep her little leg. Thank you all in advance for just reading her story. Please make sure any emergency vet you use is truly capable of helping your little fluffy.
