If you’ve ever met Luna, you know she’s a bright, kind-hearted, joyful six-year-old with the gentlest soul and the biggest smile. Luna lights up every room she walks into. Adored by family and friends and the beloved daughter of Mitchell and Jasmine, and sister to Norah and Winnie.
Luna has always loved sports, whether it’s Ju Jitsu, nippers down at Dixon, swimming at Arnold’s, or dancing at CC’s. She loves life and everything in it. Since the start of the year, all of that slowly changed.
Around December 2024, Luna just hadn’t been herself. She become ill with fevers, dizziness, extreme fatigue, and a loss of appetite meant she was missing school, sports, events and even spent Christmas Day in bed.
After doctor visits, hospital stays, and growing concern, Luna was admitted to The John on April 15th, the first day of the Easter holidays.
After two Blood Transfusion’s and two Bone Marrow surgeries. Mitchell and Jasmine were given the devastating news that their beautiful Luna has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (B-ALL).
She now faces the biggest fight of her young life.
Last Wednesday Luna underwent her third surgery. This time she had a Portacath put into her chest and was given her first treatment of chemotherapy.
This is just the beginning of a long and difficult journey—one filled with uncertainty, strength, and hope.
Mitchell and Jasmine are doing what any parent would: putting their lives on hold to be with their daughter every step of the way, while also trying to maintain a sense of normality for Norah and Winnie within their blended families.
If you feel called to support them during this time, whether through a donation, a share, or simply by keeping Luna in your thoughts. Every bit of support will allow them to focus on Luna while she fights this cruel disease.
I will continue to post updates as her journey unfolds.
