Luna is a sweet, 3 year old little dachshund full of life and energy. On Friday 4/17 she suddenly started shaking and was scared to walk, she slowly started to deteriorate to the point where she would cry out anytime her family would touch her. Her parents brought her to an emergency veterinarian where they were told she most likely had an emergency spinal issue and were sent to a neurology specialist veterinarian. There, a compressed disk in her spine was confirmed by MRI and emergency surgery was needed to give her a chance to walk again and live pain-free. Luna’s parents are a restaurant owner and a registered nurse, both greatly impacted by the COVID19 crisis. Times were already extremely tough for Luna’s family, with restaurants forced to close the household income is suffering while Luna’s mom is continuing to work in a very stressful environment at a hospital during a pandemic. This injury could not have happened at a worse time, but Luna’s parents refused to abandon her or let her suffer, and have had to apply for high interest loans to pay for her surgery. Additionally, Luna’s parents were saving money for their upcoming wedding and all of their savings money has had to go into her surgery. Luna’s family would be eternally grateful for any donation you can make to help their situation. Thank you for your consideration. ❤️
