Help Luna recover from Addison's Disease and TPLOs

Molly's beloved dog Luna that we all know and love has been really sick and they need our help!! I am a friend of Molly's from Mammoth and I currently work in canine rehab, so I understand the burden of vet bills, surgeries, rehab etc. I offered to make this go fund me to offset the costs of growing medical bills.

Molly wrote the following:

"As most of you know Luna was in bad shape for a little over a week. We knew she needed bilateral knee surgery, but little did we know how sick she was. Instead of doing surgery on her scheduled date, we took her in for a full work up at the vet. She was “near death” as the veterinarian said. Her whole body shut down and they weren’t sure why. Her kidneys weren’t functioning as normal, she wouldn’t eat for days, and she was so severely dehydrated she could barely walk. She was on fluids the entire first day, along with getting blood tests and X-rays. They couldn’t figure it out until the second day when she was diagnosed with Addison's disease. She was in the midst of an "Addisons crisis”. This is the only way it can get diagnosed… multiple injuries/stresses on their body and they can’t bounce back or process it. Without immediate attention, she could have died from organ failure.

With all of this being said, thank GOD for Dr. Mason at Root Animal Clinic and Dr. Ladd at Hillsboro Animal Hospital and all of the vet techs for diagnosing her, taking care of her and getting her what she needed to recover/survive. Her levels are now stable but we’re still working on her stomach. She still hasn’t eaten a meal in over a week, but baby steps!

Addison's disease is life long condition that thankfully can be managed with medications. I will be giving her injections every month for the rest of her life that will help to keep her adrenal glands functioning so she can continue to be the best pup ever!!

The past few days of vet management, IV fluids, diagnostics, medications, etc. have already cost me a few thousand dollars. She still needs her bilateral TPLO surgeries for her knees when she is strong enough to undergo surgery. Unfortunately, as everyone knows, surgery is very expensive and with this, she will need ongoing rehab to recover.

This has all been a big financial stress but everything was worth it for my baby looney tune.

I didn’t want to ask for help, but here I am. Anything helps but I never want anyone to feel any sort of way if you can’t or don’t want to contribute. I just wanted to provide this for those that have asked to help. I love you all and thank you for keeping us in your thoughts!"
