“I’d like to talk to management. Cone of shame, really?” - Luna, #OTB

We all know a One Tough Bitch (#OTB).

Maybe it’s your dog.

Maybe it’s your mom.

Maybe it’s your best friend.

Maybe it’s you.

Luna is my rescue dog and she’s truly a One Tough Bitch (#OTB). She was found during a snowstorm by a dumpster, gave birth to nine puppies the next day @AskasAnimals, and has spent the last three years loving everyone she meets…except maybe other dogs. She’s a dominant female. #OTB, remember?

This weekend, Luna ended up in emergency care for sepsis, and I was suddenly facing every dog mama’s worst nightmare—including whether she should be listed as DNR.

Luna made it through the night. She’s improving. And we were able to bring her home—on the condition that I monitor closely and successfully cram medications down her throat (again…remember #OTB).

I’m incredibly grateful for the team @VikingVeterinaryHospitalIdahoFalls. Their loving, dedicated, and around-the-clock care gave our girl a fighting chance. I’ll never forget that!

But, the emergency vet bills are significant ($4,000). With Luna’s three-year adoption anniversary coming up, I thought we’d ask for a little help from our village.
