Hello, all. My name is Crissy J., and I am fundraising for Luna, an 8-year-old female feline owned by my dear friends, Jeni G. and Ted J.

**Update as of April 8th:**
Luna has had her feeding tube inserted, and had a rocky recovery. Due to the overwhelming cost, the decision is to bring Luna home from the hospital and attempt to nurse her back to health. She is slowly improving and her liver disease values decreased by half, but are still high. She will most likely be home tomorrow or the next day. We wanted to give you all an update, and show our immense appreciation for you. Taking care of a pet is difficult. It is costly, payment is required upfront, and we have to be honest that there is current a 50/50 chance of improvement at this stage. We thank you all again, for your overwhelming support.

Background as of April 7th:

On April 6th, Jeni had to admit Luna to the emergency room when Luna was found very ill with no appetite. Unfortunately, ER staff stated Luna's condition was very severe, and she needed to be hospitalized immediately or else she was at high risk of passing away.

Thankfully, Luna was instantly hospitalized and was held overnight. Since then, Luna has stayed at the hospital and undergone many treatments, labs, tests, and exams to identify the root cause of her ailments. Medical staff identified she is jaundiced, requires a feeding tube due to her lack of appetite and unwillingness to eat, may have a gallbladder infection, and possibly even cancer.

 

Luna's still in the hospital as her official diagnosis is unclear, and she remains very ill and continues to need monitoring, treatment, exams, and tests. The sudden decline of her health was incredibly unexpected, especially considering her young age. Jeni and Ted are currently overwhelmed with coordinating Luna's care and are extremely worried for their little girl. They are doing everything to help their little Miss Luna, including taking overtime at their jobs and finding other creative financial ways to cover the expenses. However, Luna's medical costs are becoming astronomical and continues to grow.

 

The goal amount in this fundraiser is a minimal request compared to the overall medical cost. It is not in Jeni and Ted's nature to ask for help in this way and we take your help very seriously. We understand you are going out of your way to help them and their Luna, and are incredibly appreciative of any contribution. About Luna: Luna is eight years old and has three cat siblings: Miel, Fuji, and Mango. Luna is the only baby girl in her cat family and was adopted by Jeni, along with her brother Miel. Luna's favorite pass time is to snuggle up at the very top of the cat tower, and she loves to tell the other cats who's the boss. She shows her love to her parents with besos and gentle face-clawing, and makes the softest little purrs when she's having a good time. She is shy but sweet and will warm your heart instantly with her noble-nature, beauty, and grace.
