Luna needs a Tumour removed urgently

Donation protected
Hi my name is Tony and this is my lovely little 7 year old girl Luna Star, the most loyal gentle dog I have ever owned. She is my life, my rock, my everything and I couldn’t imagine a world without her.

Last Friday I had the shock of my life and found blood on one of her toys as we were playing. This is where I discovered a lump in her mouth that was bleeding on her gums that I have never seen before during her weekly checks and as any good owner I rushed her to the vet. Then my heart broke as the vet explained we need to get this out asap and falling short of confirmation of any diagnosis the vet expressed the urgency at getting this out. Possibly including some of the teeth directly around it.

In the last few years my partner Kelly and I have lost two cats to mammary cancer even though we threw all our savings and took out personal loans into trying to save them (Over $20,000 spent in last 3 years not including lost wages for time off to look after them post surgery's and treatments).

Then it got worse as it was my turn for a health scare with a rush into hospital late last year to have several polyp tumours cut out of my own colon and even with an emergency Category 1 referral from my doctor I was put on the public waiting list. It was 3 weeks before they even contacted me to book an appointment, but by then I had taken all my savings out, got another loan so I could go private to get them removed before they turned malignant. So now I’m broke but alive, with no savings and have several loans I’m trying to pay off.

Over the last few days I’ve tried everything I can to raise the funds in such a short time as my savings are all but depleted but due the above loans I have hanging over my head the ability for me to get another loan to complete the amount I need is unfortunately currently impossible. So here I am totally out of savings and maxed out on credit after spending everything I have had trying to save my cats and myself with my dog now needing urgent veterinary attention.

We have received a quote of $2900 for the initial procedure but I do have some minor savings and have managed to sell off some of my personal valuables online and to a local pawn broker this week so I have close to half of this raised. This amount is just for the tumour removal and doesn’t include any post treatment if the worst situation occurs and it turns out to be a malignant cancerous tumour. It may turn out to be benign but it may not, the only way to give her a fighting chance is to do this immediately and look to the next steps.

So here I am asking the world for help to save Luna Stars life. She is too young for this and deserves a fight to save her. I don’t expect others to pay for everything so I am trying to raise a gap of funding I don’t have to pay for the tumour removal surgery so any help will be greatly appreciated.

She is booked into surgery for this Friday 2nd May and I have enough to cover the 50% deposit they require upfront but I don’t have the gap and I don’t want to be forced to postpone or cancel as this will reduce her survival rate dramatically.

The best part is the vet is happy to work with me on this so if I can show the funds are slowly coming the surgery will go ahead so please donate. Anything and everything you can donate will help.

Thank you to all the pet lovers of the world for taking the time to read this and I do hope you can help Luna Star in her time of need.
