Luna Love Project: Compassionate Support for End-of-Life Pet Care

We are Teyahna and Ehani, two veterinary professionals and aspiring veterinarians who have dedicated our lives to caring for animals and supporting the people who love them. Through our work in clinics and shelter settings, we have witnessed the deep bond between pets and their families, as well as the painful reality that many pet owners face when financial barriers make end-of-life care difficult to afford. These experiences, along with our own personal stories, led us to create the Luna Love Project.

For Teyahna, this mission began with her senior pitbull, Luna, who continues to be a beloved and meaningful part of her life. Loving and caring for Luna has shaped her path into veterinary medicine and inspired a passion for helping families navigate some of the most emotional moments of pet ownership with compassion and dignity.

For Ehani, this work comes from personal loss. She knows what it feels like to say goodbye to a cherished pet without access to affordable aftercare or memorial options. Through her work in the shelter environment, she has seen many families who can only afford humane euthanasia, leaving without keepsakes or tangible memories of their companions. Those moments have deeply influenced her commitment to ensuring families feel supported, cared for, and not alone in their grief.

Together, we created the Luna Love Project to provide compassionate financial support to families facing one of the hardest parts of loving a pet: saying goodbye. Our goal is to help ease the financial burden of humane euthanasia so that pets can pass peacefully, surrounded by love, and families can make decisions based on compassion rather than cost.

This project is deeply personal to both of us. Every day, we see how often families are forced into heartbreaking choices, and we want to be part of a solution that allows more pets to receive gentle, respectful end-of-life care.
