Luna Fest is new musical, written by Sara Newman, a next generation theater-maker in NYC. Originated at the Eugene O’Neill National Theater Institute, Luna Fest has been further developed over the last two years, and after readings in New York City during the winter of 2017, the work was chosen to be a part of the My True Colors Festival in Brooklyn, June 30-July 2nd!
While the festival provides a theater space, marketing and a small stipend, it does not cover the costs of putting up a musical. And that’s where we need your support. We have put together a hugely talented team of artists— a director, musical director, set, lighting and costume designers and a stellar cast . Together, we will make Luna Fest a fresh, provocative and entertaining theater experience.
Luna Fest is the story of two women in a devoted long term relationship who are at a crossroads, where each has different questions surrounding passion, trust and commitment.
A trio of mystical witches summon them to a gathering, to challenge their belief systems through the exploration of the erotic arts. The couple is faced with navigating unknown territories, and the ultimate test for the survival of their relationship. Luna Fest is told through a female perspective using rap, song and spoken word.
Your donation will go directly towards paying for rehearsal space, and our wonderful cast and crew. We gratefully accept donations of ANY size! It all adds up. You can also support us by spreading the word about our show, buying tickets online, and sharing our gofundme page!
