Hi everyone, thank you for taking a moment to read about my girl, Luna.
Recently, Luna injured her knee and was diagnosed with cruciate disease. Her X-rays showed swelling in the joint, bone spurs forming along her kneecap, early signs of hip dysplasia, and a possible CCL or meniscus rupture. Since the injury, she’s been holding her leg up to avoid putting weight on it. Watching her struggle to walk or get comfortable has been incredibly hard. She just wants to move the way she used to.
To help her walk comfortably again, she needs TPLO surgery with a board-certified veterinary surgeon here in El Paso. The total cost of the surgery is around $8,000–$14,000.
This will be Luna’s third major surgery. She previously had emergency intestinal obstruction surgery, and just last year she had her eye removed due to glaucoma and a detached retina caused by abuse before I rescued her. Despite everything she has been through, Luna has remained gentle, goofy, loving, and so full of heart. She really is the strongest soul I know.
Luna does have insurance that covers most of the surgery. I am extremely grateful for that. However, even with insurance, I am still responsible for the remaining balance, along with her medications, follow-up visits, and rehabilitation. My out-of-pocket portion is about $1,500-$3,000, and that is what I am asking for help with.
If you’re able to donate, truly, any amount helps.
If you can’t donate, sharing her story is just as meaningful.
Luna is my family. I just want her to be able to walk, run, and live without pain again. Thank you for being here and for caring about her.
With love,
Dianne & Luna
