Our furry friend Luna is a tight spot and we need your help!
If you’ve had the pleasure of spending time with our friend Keydy Sanchez, I am sure at one point you’ve heard her speak or show funny videos and pictures of her two beautiful Siberian Huskies Luna and Casper. If you’ve worked alongside Keydy at American Airlines, you’ve had the pleasure of witnessing a Husky Half Time show during occasional Teams meetings.
During the week 3/21-3/25 everything seemed like a normal week for Keydy and her dogs, Luna seemed to be eating normally but had some trouble keeping a few snacks in her belly which rung a small alarm. The American Airlines Technical Operation Finance team had a scheduled routine inventory cycle count in AAs Tulsa maintenance base for the weekend in which Keydy was set to participate in, she trusted the care of her dogs to her neighbor who usually looked after them when she went out of town. Keydy went to Tulsa with the team to complete the cycle count over the weekend, working over 12hrs counting parts and pieces of inventory both days she was there. Saturday morning, she had texted her neighbor to check how Luna was doing but couldn’t get a response till early Sunday, she found out Luna had been vomiting her food for the past two days. As soon as she returned, Keydy rushed to see Luna, finding her in a weak and disorientated condition. Luna was too weak to hold herself up and unable hold any food after eating.
After rushing to veterinarian ER, Luna had to get and IV set up and a tube connected through her stomach to be able to eat and stabilize. After two days of scans and testing, the clinics team found out that Luna is suffering from acute canine hepatitis. This condition is Characterized by the sudden loss of 70% of the liver function. Each day Luna is in vet ER in costs $1,000 for her to remain there, she has now been there for about 5 days. Keydy and Luna need your help!
If you can contribute anything, even $1 goes along way. Please share and spread the word help Luna and Keydy!
