The City of Lumberton was in the area most impacted by the flooding from Hurricane Matthew. The floodwaters are gone but in their wake are countless families who have been displaced. The City receives numerous contacts every day from persons for whom existing public assistance is simply insufficient to provide for the repair and/or rebuilding of their home. The City Council has established a GoFundMe account for those who wish to offer financial support for these victims.
Please know that all of your generous donations will be used for the recovery of our community, and specifically to assist the citizens that have been affected by the flooding of Hurricane Matthew. All funds will be fairly and equitably put to use through a screening process monitored by City Council and myself.
