Lulu’s FIP Fundraiser

Our cat Lillith is a diva, so when we were searching for a friend for her, we knew we would need to find an exceptional kitten. We searched far and wide, and the search was worth it; the moment we saw Lulu we fell in love. Lulu adjusted right away and it wasn't long before Lulu and Lilith were inseparable; she was the little sister Lili didn't even know she needed.
Lulu’s name at the shelter was "Chick", and although it was funny to call her "Chicken" we decided she needed a fitting name for her spicy tortie attitude, so she became our "Cholula". Cholula lives up to the "tortitude" reputation, she is selective with those she trusts, but if you're one of her trusted folks, you may experience an episode of constant meowing, or her silent meowing, where she just opens her mouth over and over. Lulu is a sweet, playful and treat-loving kitten, who is always willing to pause for a Churu treat, earning her the nickname "Chimmy Chorioux", among many others (all of which she will respond to!).
Lulu has been the perfect addition to our family, so you can imagine the absolute devastation when we found out she had FIP.
About a week before she was diagnosed, we started noticing a decreased appetite, and then an elarged belly. I got her to the vet, who very quickly was able to let me know she had FIP. FIP is a previously fatal disease for cats. In recent years, a cure was found that can save FIP cats. The company that created the medication refuses to license it for animal use, so FIP parents are not able to just get treatment at the vet. I felt hopeless and heartbroken until we found FIP Warriors, a group that helps FIP parents acquire the life saving medication as well as guides them through treatment. Through this group, we were able to get started with Lulu's treatment. Her treatment will last 84 days, today she is on day 41. It has been a rollercoaster so far, but every single day her energy is increasing and she is improving.
The treatment is, however, costly, and we find ourselves facing a financial burden that we cannot bear alone. This is where we turn to our friends, family, and fellow animal lovers for support. We have created this GoFundMe campaign with the hope that, together, we can raise the funds needed to give Cholula a fighting chance at a full and healthy life. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to affording the treatment that could save our sweet Lulu. We understand that times are tough for everyone, and your consideration means the world to us.
Thank you for being a part of Lulu's journey.
