Lulu's Fight for Life Needs Your Help

Lulu is a precious 2 1/2-year-old French Bull dog who was chasing after a deer last Sunday night, July 13, 2025 in the Chalfont area and was hit by a car that did not stop. Lulu was rushed to Quakertown Veterinary Clinic by her parents (Brooke and Claudio) who witnessed the entire traumatic experience. Lulu lost consciousness twice while in Brooke's arms on her way to the hospital. She was bleeding from her vulva, mouth, nose and head. When they arrived, Lulu was in great pain, full of blood and in shock. Her parents were given the option to euthanize Lulu or take a 50-50 chance on a surgery to save her life and that is what these fine doctors did at Quakertown- they saved her life.

Lulu underwent immediate emergency surgery that night to repair a tear in her bladder to stop the internal bleeding. She also had damage to her kidneys, liver, a left lung contusion, 2 pelvic fractures and her gum line was separated from her teeth. After surgery her lung function worsened, and she was put on oxygen. Her parents were told the next 24 hours were crucial- Lulu was not out of the woods yet.

Lulu fought for her life for the next 5 days before she was released from the hospital on Friday, July 18th. She remains at home on a fentanyl patch, 2 other pain meds, a liver protectant and antibiotics. She is crate bound for 6-8 weeks hopefully to repair her fractures. She may need further surgery on her right knee.

Lulu is tiny but mighty!

To date, the total vet bill is $12,000.00 and this is our goal today- to help raise enough money to help Brooke and Caludio pay this unexpected vet bill.

If you know my animal loving daughter Brooke (aka Dr. Dolittle) you will know there is nothing she will not do for an animal in need. Whether it be domestic, wild or even feral, she cannot help herself, regardless of who is trying to stop her (for her own safety of course). Besides the countless dogs and kittens, she has taken in and nursed back to health, she has rescued a couple of emaciated horses. Brooke volunteered and fundraised for a local rescue group. She helped the Bucks County SPCA confiscate neglected dogs from a hoarding situation. On many occasions I have witnessed her fearless passion. Whether it is a cow, a bird, a huge snapper turtle trying to cross the road, a baby goat having heat stroke, a horse drowning, a tangled racoon, a deer hit by a car, even a bear, Brooke is on the frontline.
