On April 11th, 2017 a 5-alarm fire broke out in a Elmhurst apartment building located at 56-11 94th Street.
Luckily, only 11 out of the 250 firefighters dispatched to scene as well as all tenants in 112 apartments suffered minor injures battling the blaze.
The fire started between ceiling of top floor (6th) and roof on one side of building and quickly spread damaging and causing entire roof to collapse.
Though the blaze spread through 6th floor apartments, they were able to contain and put out the fire, with only fire damaging 6th and 5th floors apartments.
All apartments not directly effected by fire, got extensive if not some water damage.
Sara and Gabriel as many who know them know, they live on the 4th floor of this building.
Thank god not much damage was done in their apartment but as of right now they are deeming the building inhabitable and all 112 apartments were evacuated until further notice.
Some are speculating it to take weeks to months for all repairs to be completed.
Their doors were always open for friends and family at anytime needed, no questions asked.
These are two people who I have seen personally take clothes off their backs to help someone else in their time of need. They will give and never ask for something in return. It is time now - for them to get all the help they deserve!
Any donation to help them back on their feet for the time being will be GREATLY Appreciated.
Thank you!
