Luku Ngärra: Completion, Outreach & Education

After winning the 'Change' Award at the 2022 Adelaide Film Festival, Luku Ngärra: The Law of the Land is in high demand.

Given the enormity and urgency of the message behind our film, we feel it is important to get it seen far and wide as soon as possible, particularly in the education system at High School and University levels.

Before we can do this, we need some help.

Keeping true to the integrity of Ms Saban’s work and Dr Gondarra’s political position, both are very proud to say that this is a real independent film. No funds were taken from the usual film funding bodies that are all government affiliated; and what is even more powerful is that it has been predominantly Indigenous funded, making it a genuine voice of the Yolngu people whom it represents.

But what this has meant is that we don't have access to big bucks, we have taken out loans from banks and all sorts of crazy things to get us to where we are today.... and now we just need some help from you at the end of this journey to get us over the line.

1. COMPLETION COSTS
The absolute most urgent costs we need are:
$3,300 for Color Grade
$2,100 for Sound Mix
$4,000 Licensing of Archive Costs

2. MARKETING
Doing it independently means we don't have the funds to pay a marketing / PR team to help us push the film, and we really just can't manage it on our own. We have a great PR team that have worked with similar content who want to take on our film. Their package cost is:
$4,400

2. CREATING EDUCATION PACKAGE FOR SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES
We believe it is essential that this film is used as an educational resource in High Schools and Universities across the country. We have over 70 hours of additional footage and extended interviews that have not been used in the film. In the coming months we want to develop an online educational portal where schools, universities and students can access further knowledge and information on the issues raised.

We will also have ATOM (Australian Teachers of Media) write an education package for us, which is in line with the National Curriculum. This will then be circulated to all high schools and Universities across Australia through their huge database that we can access.

Online Education Portal with extended interviews / additional content: $8,000
ATOM National Curriculum Package and Access to their Database: $6,600
