In Loving Memory of Luke Voirol

Lucas “Luke” Samuel Voirol, 32, of Bellevue, KY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 30th. He was the funny, loving, and caring piece of each of us that we needed most when we needed it most. His untimely passing has left an unfathomable void in the hearts of his loved ones and our community.

Luke was a passionate film and music enthusiast; a meteorologist; and a landscape artist with the cleanest lines on either side of the Licking. He was one with nature and loved hiking, camping, and fishing, and holds the all-time stone-skipping record at Dry Creek. Luke loved all things culinary and was the first to douse a dish in the spiciest hot sauce known to man. He was a hall-of-fame disc golf, baseball, soccer, and bowling star. He loved playing video games with friends and family and taught many of us everything we know about gaming (we all may lovingly debate the champion at GoldenEye and Smash).

Luke graduated in 2009 from Dixie Heights High School and in 2014 from NKU with a BA in Electronic Media and Broadcasting and a minor in Film Studies. By trade, Luke was a Gas Line Technician with Southern Cross.

Luke was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Cecelia Voirol, and maternal grandparents, Alice & Clyde Niemer. He is survived by his parents, Gene & Patricia “Patty” (nee. Niemer) Voirol; brothers, Andrew “Andy” & Max (Ellie Terlep) Voirol; his paternal grandfather, Glenn Voirol; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and their families; an endless list of close friends; and his furry best friend, Apache.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 8th, and from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, May 9th at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, 427 S Fort Thomas Ave., Ft. Thomas, KY.

There will be a private Graveside Service at St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas. Memorial and funereal GoFundMe contributions will support a number of charities in Luke’s honor, including those focused on mental health.
