Luke's Surgery and Recovery Fund

Below is a write up from Luke's Dad, Tim. Surgery for Luke, in ordet to make sure he can heal properly, will be in the many, many thousands. This is a very serious injury and the person who hit Luke, did not stop to offer help nor assistance with minimzing any further damage to him, likely making the injuries he sustained worse. Please help by donating what you can or helping us spread the word. Luke is one of our own!

"Lukas is the 7 month old Black Lab that I adopted two weeks before Christmas. He has quickly become a much loved part of the family. We are pretty much inseparable, as Luke accompanies me to work every day, go on walks and play together.

Luke is a goofy little guy, talkative, and very much a sweetheart.

Never aggressive with other dogs, on the contrary, he seems intent on making all other dogs his friend and playmate, no matter how big or how small.

There wasn't any way that I could think of not getting to see this little guy grow up with me!

On Wednesday, April 19th, Luke and I went to work in Woodlake, CA. Our woodworking business, Appendage + Bough has a shop space in the middle of the Orange orchards, near Visalia, and Luke has three other dog friends that he likes to roam around with.

As we left later that morning to go grab lunch, little did we know that Luke would follow us down the quarter mile driveway, and onto the main road.
We returned about 30 minutes later to see Luke lying down, unable to move.

He had been run over and left on the side of the road.

We quickly scooped him up into the back of the pickup truck and found the nearest Veterinarian, as my regular Vet is in San Luis Obispo

His list of injuries include:

-2 Fractured Knees
-2 Dislocated Hips
-1 Broken Femur
-1 Lacerated Liver
-Hemmorage and Blood loss
-Multiple abrasions and lacerations

Luke has been found to be in stable condition, and now we need to transport him back to Arroyo Grande, CA to see his orthopedic Surgeon on Monday, April 24th, and have surgery to repair his numerous fractures and dislocations."
