Last weekend, Luke suffered a serious fall from a bridge while on a weekend trip in Fredericksburg, TX with friends. He was airlifted to Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, where doctors discovered several broken bones, along with a spinal cord injury. He underwent emergency surgery to stabilize his spine and received two rods and eight screws.
Thanks to the incredible medical team and an outpouring of support, Luke is now in stable condition. The next step in his recovery will be transferring home to Houston, where he will begin intensive rehabilitation at TIRR Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center. There, Luke will focus on regaining his strength and motor function with the goal of returning to an active and independent life.
We are deeply grateful that Luke is still with us. While his recovery journey will take time and dedication, we are committed to ensuring he has every resource and opportunity needed for the best possible outcome.
All funds raised will go directly toward Luke’s medical and rehabilitation expenses, specialized equipment, and any home modifications needed to support his recovery. If there is anything left over, these funds will be used to support Luke’s future.
Luke has always been the person who lights up every room with his smile and laughter — and the first to lend a hand when someone else is in need. Now, it’s our turn to rally around him.
Luke is a graduate from St. Thomas High School's class of 2020, and the University of Texas' class of 2024. He is the son of Mark and Bobbie Jo Bennett, and a brother to Drake Bennett.
We sincerely appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and any contribution you feel moved to make toward his healing journey.
