Luke's Kidney and Liver Transplant

Hi, my name is Lisa. I am setting up this fundraiser for my nephew Luke who is 21 years old. Luke was born with a rare genetic disease called Methylmalonic Acidemia. With this disease, he has faced many health and physical challenges throughout his young life. Luke has spent many years in and out of hospitals and under constant specialist monitoring. He is currently in kidney failure and on the transplant list for a new kidney and liver. Luke's sister Stephanie, my beautiful, sweet niece's life was taken by this rare and toxic disease this past June at 28 years old. Not only is Luke faced with a double transplant, but he is also still grieving the loss of his sister, who was taken by the same disease that he has. This double transplant will save his life and give him a 2nd chance for a better quality of life. I have created this fundraiser to help Luke and his family with medical bills, travel and loss of wages during this time. They will have to relocate their family for several months to Pittsburgh, where a team of specialists will oversee the double transplant and aftercare.
