Lukes Journey. Our Teamwork.

Hello Everyone! We have created this account on behalf of our dear friend/brother Luke. In early July, Luke went to the doctor to get a bothersome lump in his neck checked out. On August 2nd Luke was diagnosed with favorable Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The cancer is located in two clusters, with one being around his heart and the other around his neck. Luke started chemotherapy on August 15th. It has not been an easy battle thus far, but Luke is thankful! Last week Luke completed his first 2 rounds of chemotherapy (1 round = 2 treatments/every other week). He starts his 3rd round next Tuesday, October 15th. Luke has a PETT scan scheduled for tomorrow, October 10th, that will test how the cancer in his body is responding to the chemo treatments. The results of the scan will determine how much, if any, treatments are needed after completion of the 3rd round of chemo. At the end of all of his lovely chemo treatments, he will start 3 weeks of radiation. That will be a Mon-Fri routine. Apparently, the biggest side effect of the radiation is fatigue with overall much fewer side effects than chemotherapy. Praise God! The Oncologist said last week she is very hopeful that all of his treatments should be completed by Christmas! We appreciate all of your support in advance! Thank you all!
