On June 29, 2022, Luke James Boyer made his grand entrance into this world, but was immediately rushed to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans to receive lifesaving care. Luke was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). HLHS is a rare congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart is significantly underdeveloped and requires a series of three surgeries: the Norwood, the Glenn, and finally the Fontan. The Norwood was performed when Luke was just 7 days old. At 4 1/2 months old, he underwent the Glenn, and he has had many cardiac catheterization procedures done in between. At 3 years old, Luke was set to undergo the Fontan, but after further testing, his doctor stated that his heart was not strong enough to undergo the procedure. Luke is now on a journey for a new heart. ❤️ He has made the transplant list at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, but the list for his blood type is long. Luke’s doctors are wanting him to move into the hospital for treatment while waiting for the transplant.
Luke is the sweetest, dinosaur, Spider-Man, and Garfield-loving little boy who strives to keep up with his older sister, Theodora. The amount of time that will be spent in the hospital is indefinite right now since waiting for a new heart can be a lengthy process. Because of this, Brittany will be unable to work. That is where we come in! Adam and Brittany have a lot on their plate, and finances should be their last stressor during this time. Please join me in helping take that stress away. They are constantly blessing others and it’s time for us to give back to them. Every dollar counts and is a true blessing. Any donations received will be used toward medical expenses, traveling expenses, housing in Texas, bills back at home, and to purchase anything that they may need during their time in Texas. I am also planning on organizing a Meal Train to cover expenses for food while they are staying in Texas.
If you can find it in your heart to donate, please do. If you are unable to donate, we are asking that you keep Luke and the entire family in your prayers. Last but not least, please share. The Boyers could use all of the help and prayers for Luke that they can get. We are all praying for a miracle!! We appreciate the support!❤️
