"Our sweet Luke has been diagnosed with a disorder known as osteogenisis imperfecta, or "brittle bone disease". It is a genetic disorder (usually a spontaneous gene mutation) which results in extremely fragile bones which  break easily and with no apparent cause - it is a spectrum disorder which can range from mild to severe. We are of course hoping and praying for a milder form, but it is likely that Luke's condition is more moderate as he has shown a couple of fractures in utero. He is being followed by a pediatric neonatal specialist at UCLA, Dr. Krakow, and will likely begin biphosphonate infusions shortly after birth to strengthen his bones. We are optimistic that Luke will be living his best life with few complications!! This GoFundMe is to donate to Luke's Health Savings Account for is future medical needs.
