On Wednesday February 22, 2017 our friend and coworker, Luke Wieser, was the unfortunate victim of a violent crime while walking home in his Woodside, NY neighborhood. Luke suffered several severe injuries, including multiple leg fractures and a dislocated, fractured shoulder. He is currently in the hospital, recuperating from, among other things, an emergency surgery to insert a 12in metal rod to help repair the damage to his leg. 
Aside from being an integral member of WB Engineers' Commissioning team, Luke is a proud veteran of the US Navy, with multiple overseas deployments in his 8 years of service. As an Engineman, he spent 36 months onboard a Destroyer class ship overseas in Japan, before becoming a Corpsman, a Navy medical specialist. Luke deployed 7 months to the Army Hospital in Kandahar, Afghanistan where he provided patient care to 600 coalition forces and 300 local national casualties as well as first responder to over 1,200 combat wounded patients during medical evacuations from the flight line! For his stellar service as a Corpsman he received 2 Navy Achievement Medals and a Navy Unit Commendation Medal for world class trauma care at NATO Role 3 Hospital.
While his insurance will be helping, Luke has a very long road ahead of him before he is back out surfing and snowboarding, two of his favorite pastimes.

A recent transplant to the NYC area from St. Augustine, FL, this southern gentleman is far from his family and facing several grueling months of rehab and recovery.

Just as Luke served to provide world class aid to those wounded combat warriors in Afghanistan, we want to make sure that he gets the care and support that he needs to get back on his feet.
