100KM Ultra Run | Running for the Fighters Who Start Life Early
May 24th – I’ll be taking on the Ultra Challenge: Capital to Coast — a 100km endurance run from Richmond-Upon-Thames, through the Surrey and Sussex countryside, and across the South Downs, finishing at the Brighton coastline.
But this challenge is more than just a physical feat — it’s deeply personal.
When my daughter Arla was born at just 26 weeks, weighing only 2lbs, she was given just a 20% chance of survival.
To hold something so tiny in your hand, and yet witness such fierce determination and strength — it was utterly life-changing. Her fight for survival, her resilience, and her unwavering strength completely shifted my perspective on life.
I am raising funds for Babies in Buscot Support (BIBS) — a charity that provides life-saving equipment, vital resources, and essential support to the special care baby unit at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where Arla received her care.
BIBS helps give sick and premature babies the best possible chance — and they made a world of difference to us during those early days.
This run is in honour of Arla, and every other child who starts life fighting.
It’s also a chance to raise funds and awareness for the incredible support premature babies and their families need during those terrifying early days.
If you’d like to support, donate or share this cause — it would mean the world.
